Rape and sexual assault

Women (and also men) who practise Falun Gong have been systematically sexually violated by the police and the 6-10 Office. They are raped in public by police agents, hung upside down in prison, stripped naked and thrown into jail cells containing convicted male criminals. This has resulted in gang rape, being penetrated with broomsticks or electric batons causing severe bleeding, or tortured with dangerous compounds in the genitals.

“Almost every woman’s genitals and breasts or every man’s genitals have been sexually assaulted during the persecution in a most vulgar fashion,” Gao wrote in a December 2005 open letter to Communist Party leaders.

A report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women cites an October 2000 case in which 18 women who practise Falun Gong were stripped naked and thrown into jail cells containing convicted male criminals (UN document number E/CN.4/2001/73/Add.1).

In Yonganli city, a plainclothes policeman stopped a woman who was posting Falun Gong flyers in mailboxes. He viciously groped around this practitioner’s lower body under the excuse of conducting a body search. She tried to run away but did not succeed. The policeman beat her for over an hour, bringing her to the verge of death. Two of her front teeth were knocked out from the beating and she lost consciousness. He dragged her under the bridge, ripped off her pants and raped her. After that, he forced his rubber baton into her vagina using his full strength and sat on her. When this practitioner regained consciousness and a little strength, she shouted as loudly as she could; he then rode away on his bicycle.
- Women of Conscience

One group letter from Chinese women who practise Falun Gong summarises what they have suffered: “Iron wire has been used to pierce our nipples. Police have sexually violated our bodies with aubergines, toothbrushes, and plastic water bottles. In one female labour camp located in Jilin province, police inserted hot pepper powder into women’s vaginas in order to force them to give up their belief and practice of Falun Dafa.”

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Jilin prison described by inmates as 'hell on earth'

(Minghui.org) For the past 14 years, the Chinese Communist Party has been brutally persecuting the peaceful cultivation practice of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong). Hundreds of thousands of Dafa practitioners have been imprisoned, sent to forced labour camps and brainwashing centres, and nearly 4,000 are known to have been killed by torture or abuse – though due to the information blockade in China, the actual number is likely much higher. After 13 years of brutal suppression, a turning of the tide?

NEW YORK – On May 29th, Mr Yu Xuezhong left home to go to his friend’s house. Little did he know it would be his last time. Summary of Gao Zhisheng's third open letter to Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao

Gao Zhisheng has been praised as “the conscience of Chinese lawyers” and “a great hero”. China’s Ministry of Justice rated him one of China’s top ten lawyers in 2001. He has earned a reputation for courage in standing up against human rights abuses and is one of only a handful of lawyers in China who will defend those persecuted for their religious or spiritual beliefs. He wrote two letters to President Hu Jintao in which he describes his extensive research and calls to stop prosecuting people who believe in freedom. From then on, Gao and his family have been watched 24 hours a day by hordes of police officers. He was threatened and his law firm was illegally closed. Here is an excerpt from Gao's third letter. Sexual assault of Falun Gong practitioners in prisons and labour camps

The inhuman and sadistic nature of the persecution is exemplified in the sexual abuse suffered by Falun Gong practitioners at the hands of Chinese authorities. The forms of sexual torture include rape, molestation, shocking genitals with electric batons, raping Falun Gong practitioners with foreign objects (including toilet brushes and batons), shoving hot peppers into vaginas, pinching genitals or nipples even to the point of tearing them off, kicking genitals, piercing nipples with hot irons, stripping practitioners naked and beating them, forcefully administering drugs that cause menstruation to cease, and more.
