Practitioners tortured in Xingtai Brainwashing Centre in Hebei Province

(Minghui.org) Surrounded by high walls topped with barbed wire and secured with an iron gate, the notorious Xingtai Brainwashing Centre lies roughly 330 yards east of the Xingtai Epilepsy Hospital on Donghuan Road, which leads into Jing'an Village. Over the last decade, the brainwashing centre has jailed and tortured many Falun Gong practitioners. Some were taken to the centre directly by local police, and others were transferred from forced labour camps and prisons. READ MORE

Italian medical community changes pace in fight against international organ trafficking

The world is acting quickly to counter the international traffic organs and Italy is in the game.

Only three days ago, on July 9th, the Council of Europe adopted the first convention to combat human organs traffic, encouraging a “close international cooperation between Member States [of the Council] and non-member states.”

Yesterday at the Italian Parliament  the First Symposium on Ethics in transplantation was held, which gathered together doctors, lawyers and institutions with the same goal: promoting ethical standards and legislative actions to eradicate an illegal phenomenon that involves the entire planet. Father of Toronto man faces imprisonment in China for his religious beliefs

Toronto resident Paul Li is calling for the release of his father, Li Xiaobo, who is being held by Chinese authorities in violation of his right to freedom of belief and free expression. The two were arrested together in Chengdu, China last month. Paul was released because of his Canadian citizenship, but his father remains imprisoned and is expected to face trial in the coming weeks. READ MORE

Mr Wang Wenzhang from Liaoning province passed away as a result of persecution

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wang Wenzhang from Xifeng County, Liaoning Province, was persecuted repeatedly for upholding his practice of Falun Gong. Most recently he was illegally arrested and sentenced to four years in prison in March 2009. He was brutally tortured in Dongling Prison and suffered a stroke. He was released on bail for medical treatment in early 2013. It was too late however, and within the next six months Mr Wang became paralysed. On March 28th, 2014, at the age of 65, he lost his life. 'Shutdown' of labour camps does not mean the end of persecution

(Minghui.org) Chinese officials publicly announced their decision to abolish the notorious forced labour camp system on January 7th, 2013, according to a December 2013 Amnesty International report. The "education through labour" system, as authorities call it, has existed for nearly six decades. The name is deceptive, however, as these are forced labour camps, pure and simple, with brainwashing and torture commonplace in addition to overwork and dangerous working conditions.

The forced labour camp system in China is declared to have been “shutdown,” but the harm and pain it has caused to millions of people, especially Falun Gong practitioners, has long-lasting effects. READ MORE

European Parliament passes resolution against organ harvesting atrocities by the Chinese regime

The European Parliament passed a resolution on December 12th, 2013, condemning "systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from...prisoners of conscience in the People's Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners." The resolution calls upon member states to publicly condemn the gruesome practice, and ensure that all of those involved are prosecuted. READ MORE
