Falun Gong that sue Jiang Zemin imprisoned for seeking justice

18-01-2016 Lawsuits

(Minghui.org) A top secret mandate recently issued in Gansu Province ordered all levels of the government to curtail Falun Gong practitioners suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who launched the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong. This mandate is an outcome of a recent meeting called by Luo Xiaohu, who is chief of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 6-10 Office of Gansu Province.

At least 200,000 victims of the persecution have already filed criminal complaints against Jiang. The mandate is a reflection of the fact that the last vestiges of authority from Jiang's era are trying to suppress the victims seeking justice.

The exact date the orders were issued could have been as early as May 2015. A drastic increase in the persecution of practitioners who have filed complaints against Jiang can be clearly seen all across the province since then.

After they file their lawsuits, detained practitioners are harassed, intimidated, arrested, incarcerated, and even sued.

Posters that offer rewards for reporting practitioners to local officials can be seen on public bulletin boards in many places throughout Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City.

Post offices intercept lawsuits against Jiang

The Polticial and Legal Affairs Committe and 6-10 Office of Baiyin City issued a notice in May ordering all post offices in the city to keep track of any lawsuits against Jiang presented for mailing.

According to the notice, the post offices are to intercept all mail bound for the Supreme Court and Supreme Procuratorate of China and forward it to the local Domestic Security Division, which then decides if the mail should be delivered.

The notice violates Chinese law governing post offices and is a clear example of the unbounded power of the 6-10 Office, which overrides all levels of Chinese government.

Many practitioners received acknowledgment that their lawsuits against Jiang had been delivered, but their letters were not registered for regular delivery. The police soon visited these practitioners.

Practitioners incarcerated and sued

Dozens of practitioners from Jingtai County, Baiyin City, have posted letters to sue Jiang, but the county post office intercepted all of them.

Ms Wang Lianzhen was arrested at home and held in the Baiyin City Detention Centre on October 14th, 2015. She is still incarcerated.

Another practitioner, Mr Wang Yichao, from Yitiaoshan Town, Jingtai County, was taken to a local detention centre on August 27th, 2015, and is still there.

Wang Cun, an officer from the Domestic Security Division of Jingtai County, played a leading role in the two arrests.

The Jingtai Procuratorate sued Mr Wang Yichao in the Jingtai County Court. His family hired a lawyer for him, but the lawyer was not allowed to see his client in detention. The court denied the lawyer his rights and told him to apply for permission to be the defence lawyer from the provincial Justice Administration. The denial breaks Chinese law.
