Wang Defu, male, was born on October 19th, 1992. When he was 9 years old, his mother Ms Zhang Haiyan, who started to practise Falun Gong in 1996, went to Beijing to appeal for the justice of Falun Gong. She was arrested and eventually sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp where she suffered inhuman torture. In March 2003, she was sent home completely mentally disturbed. During the 10 months she was at home, she never dared to speak to anyone, including her husband and child. Her family members never dared to talk to her loudly, because they didn't want to scare her. Even if it was just a child yelling nearby, she would be frightened to the point that her face became pale and she shivered all over. On January 18th, 2004, she passed away.
After that, Defu’s family which was already broken apart and has lost its usual warmth now suffers new pain. Defu was originally a smart and sensible child and his academic record was very good. After his mother passed away, and seeing his family members extremely worried, he does not have the thought or patience to study again. His grandfather is disabled and has only one hand. His grandmother suffers from severe chronic disease. Because of severe financial difficulty, little Defu has dropped out from school and now is helping his farther to support the family. The once chubby and happy boy is now very skinny and he is much smaller than other children of his age.
