Key individuals (Minghui.org) In China over the last 3 years, a large scale anti-corruption campaign, commonly known as “beating the tigers”, has weeded out hundreds of high-ranking communist party and government officials. Many of whom were involved in the persecution of Falun Gong.
Law violations (Minghui.org) Mr Xiong Huifeng, a 78-year-old retired space scientist, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years by the Nankai District Court in Tianjin, China on December 4th, 2015 for practising Falun gong.

Lawsuits (Minghui.org), More and more Chinese have started to speak out against the persecution of Falun Gong, due to the persistent efforts of practitioners. The recent flood of lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the main culprit responsible for the persecution, has not only received massive support from the international community, but is also supported by many Chinese government officials in public and non-official ways. Here are two examples.
Lawsuits (Minghui.org) Nineteen Falun Gong practitioners and one non-practitioner from Tianjin were arrested between July 3rd and 14th for suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that caused them tremendous harm.
Many remain in detention. In particular, Ms Huang Fenglian was given three months of detention, while her non-practitioner husband was sentenced to 4 years in prison for trying to stop the police from taking his wife away from their home. The couple were also fined 20,000 Yuan (GBP £2,100).
Sexual assault (Minghui.org) Ms Han Zhongcui's three-year prison term ends in July 2015. Officials at the Gansu Women's Prison have threatened to take her to a brainwashing centre because she has refused to renounce her belief in Falun Gong.
Lawsuits (Minghui.org) Over 80,000 people had filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin by July 16th, 2015. In some cities, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents responded by arresting and harassing practitioners. The following includes recent reports from a few cities in China.

The hearing was adjourned when the defence lawyer called into question one of many violations of legal procedure. From the practitioner's arrest to the trial, the authorities repeatedly broke the law.
Law violations (Minghui.org) Ms Wang Chuanju, a retired primary teacher and a Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally sentenced to four years in prison by a Junan County Court judge. Her lawyer submitted her appeal to a higher court on November 21st, 2014, but has been given the runaround by the legal system. It was recently learned that her case was closed and the original sentence was upheld.

Law violations (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wang Yushi, 26, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term on May 23rd, 2014. He has appealed to the Tianjin Intermediate Court. His family hired a lawyer to plead not guilty for him.
