Deaths (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Liu Zhanhai from the Nangang District in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, died on December 5th, 2014, while serving a four-year prison term in the Shenyang No. 1 Prison. Mr Liu was one of the 13 practitioners arrested in Shenyang in March 2013 for doing the Falun Gong exercises in public. He was subsequently sentenced to a four-year prison term.

Deaths (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Li Hailong, 42, passed away in September 2014. He had been imprisoned for four years, and was arrested again on October 18th, 2013. The police took him to the local police station and threatened him. Mr Li was released after the police extorted 2,000 Yuan (GBP £210) from him. His health deteriorated and he became emaciated.

A Taiwanese patient received a matched liver and a matched kidney within only a month in a hospital in a city in northern China, according to an exclusive interview on October 30th by the New York-based, Chinese-language television network New Tang Dynasty.
Deaths (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Li Guangfan from Chengguan Township in Yi County, Liaoning Province, passed away on September 18th, 2014, after long term persecution. He was 59 years old. His wife, Ms Wu Fengyan, passed away at the age of 51 on May 21st, 2010, of a cerebral haemorrhage. She had also been repeatedly persecuted for her belief in Falun Gong.

Psychiatric torture NEW YORK – After serving 15 years in prison, Mr Zhiwen Wang, a coordinator for the Falun Dafa Research Association in Beijing, was released on Saturday. However, local police immediately sent Mr Wang to a brainwashing centre in the Changping District of Beijing.
Psychiatric torture (Minghui.org) Surrounded by high walls topped with barbed wire and secured with an iron gate, the notorious Xingtai Brainwashing Centre lies roughly 330 yards east of the Xingtai Epilepsy Hospital on Donghuan Road, which leads into Jing'an Village. Over the last decade, the brainwashing centre has jailed and tortured many Falun Gong practitioners. Some were taken to the centre directly by local police, and others were transferred from forced labour camps and prisons.

Law violations (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wang Yushi, 26, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term on May 23rd, 2014. He has appealed to the Tianjin Intermediate Court. His family hired a lawyer to plead not guilty for him.

Witness accounts Toronto resident Paul Li is calling for the release of his father, Li Xiaobo, who is being held by Chinese authorities in violation of his right to freedom of belief and free expression. The two were arrested together in Chengdu, China last month. Paul was released because of his Canadian citizenship, but his father remains imprisoned and is expected to face trial in the coming weeks.
Lawsuits NEW YORK – Four prominent human rights lawyers representing Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained in a "Black Jail", officially called a "Legal Education Centre," have been detained and beaten in northeastern China.
Deaths (Epoch Times) A practitioner of Falun Gong, a Chinese spiritual practice, who tapped into a television channel in China to broadcast footage exposing the persecution of the practice has died from torture after seven years detention.
Lawsuits A Canadian lawyers group says it is “gravely concerned” about the ongoing detention and whereabouts of prominent lawyer Gao Zhisheng, known for his courage in speaking out against human rights abuses in China.
Deaths (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wang Wenzhang from Xifeng County, Liaoning Province, was persecuted repeatedly for upholding his practice of Falun Gong. Most recently he was illegally arrested and sentenced to four years in prison in March 2009. He was brutally tortured in Dongling Prison and suffered a stroke. He was released on bail for medical treatment in early 2013. It was too late however, and within the next six months Mr Wang became paralysed. On March 28th, 2014, at the age of 65, he lost his life.
Persecuted lawyers NEW YORK – Human rights lawyers and defiant citizens alike are increasingly taking a public, unprecedented stand against the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China. Just a few years ago, such acts were unheard of.
Physical torture (Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr Huang Min, 70, a former lecturer of the Electronic Engineering Department at Jiamusi University, is serving a 20-year illegal sentence in the No. 11 Prison District of Shandong Provincial Prison.
Propaganda (Minghui.org) A Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario, Mr Jack MacLaren, had an unexpected and disturbing encounter with representatives of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) recently.
He received an unsigned letter from the Jiangsu branch of CPAFFC (Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries), a CCP organisation, on January 13th, 2014. The letter demanded that he withdraw his support for Falun Gong and urged him to ask his colleagues to do the same.
Mr MacLaren stated that the demands of CCP organisations have no influence over his decisions. On the contrary, he said, the letter has prompted him to step up his efforts to support Falun Gong practitioners.
Key individuals A top communist official with ties to the former security czar has been dismissed and subject to an investigation, according to a brief statement in the official Chinese press recently.
Li Chongxi, the official, is most notable for being an underling close to the former security chief Zhou Yongkang. Li was the highest-level secretary to Zhou when Zhou was the Party secretary of Sichuan Province from 1999 to 2002.
For years Li was also an active participant in the campaign against the Falun Gong spiritual practice, beginning in 1999, that was organised by former Party leader Jiang Zemin. Zhou Yongkang, Li’s direct boss, was also a key official in the campaign against Falun Gong.
Forced labour (Minghui.org) Chinese officials publicly announced their decision to abolish the notorious forced labour camp system on January 7th, 2013, according to a December 2013 Amnesty International report. The "education through labour" system, as authorities call it, has existed for nearly six decades. The name is deceptive, however, as these are forced labour camps, pure and simple, with brainwashing and torture commonplace in addition to overwork and dangerous working conditions.
The forced labour camp system in China is declared to have been “shutdown,” but the harm and pain it has caused to millions of people, especially Falun Gong practitioners, has long-lasting effects.
Psychiatric torture (Minghui.org) Veteran soldier Mr Su Qinghe, recognised as a model citizen, was forcibly separated from his wife only one week after their wedding. Over the years, they have spent more time apart than together. In the last two years, his wife has had to care for their young child while working, as he has been unlawfully detained at the Inner Mongolia Forced Labour Camp.
Censorship and internet control On December 22nd, 2013, Baidu, China’s largest internet search engine, had it's Internet blockade down for a day. For this brief moment, uncensored information regarding Falun Gong was available.
European Parliament passes resolution against organ harvesting atrocities by the Chinese regime 16/01/2014
Organ harvesting The European Parliament passed a resolution on December 12th, 2013, condemning "systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from...prisoners of conscience in the People's Republic of China, including from large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners." The resolution calls upon member states to publicly condemn the gruesome practice, and ensure that all of those involved are prosecuted.
150 million people quit the CCP 16/01/2014
Key individuals (Minghui.org) More than 150 million people have posted their resignations from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Youth League, and Young Pioneers on the Epoch Times website as of November 13th, 2013. Since the beginning of this year, the average daily number of withdrawals from the Party and its two youth organisations has remained stable at around 60,000.
Physical torture (Minghui.org) On the afternoon of September 9th, 2013, local police from Shiling Town, Chengdu City in Sichuan Province broke into 74-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms Jian Chengrong's home. They claimed that Ms Jian's home was the headquarters for local Falun Gong practitioners, and sent about 20 officers to ransack the elderly woman's home.
